Drawing on Denis OUCH's captivation with spiritual iconography, Animal Saints imaginatively symbolizes the universe being sacred and divine, and nature's way of taking and giving back life to our planet. A Saint is a person who is recognized as having an exceptional degree of holiness, likeness or closeness to God, "the most holly creatures are not human but those that fuel the circle of life". It would be difficult to overstate the importance of the Amazon rainforest as the greatest natural treasure of our Earth. Its health, in many ways, is our entire planet's health. In Denis OUCH's emotional reaction to these testing times, he memorializes the Saints at risk on our divine mother planet.
